Mother's Day

It’s getting to that time of year again where we take a day to appreciate our moms. Mother’s Day is said to have its routes back in the early 1900’s when a lady named Anna Jarvis decided to acknowledge all the great things her own mother had done for her. Starting in West Virginia, after a few years the tradition took off.

Nowadays, moms can expect a card, flowers, chocolate, and maybe breakfast in bed from their kids (or spouse) on this special day. It’s become a day to celebrate yourself, your mom, and moms around the world for all that they do.

Maybe you and your family are planning a brunch, or a fancy dinner, or maybe you’re just hanging around the house, not doing anything much today. It’s kind of like a second birthday!

As a mother of two myself, Mother’s Day is something I look forward as my kids get older every year. It is so nice to celebrate yourself and be celebrated by the ones you love most.
